I found some dollars in an old paypal account last week, so I spent them on Coilhouse. It arrived today, complete with typo on the cover (which just adds to the charm). One of the artists featured in it is Travis Louie, who paints these wonderful formal portraits of characters that didn’t quite exist. (The mini-biographies that accompany many of the paintings are delightful, too.) Also notable are Jessica Joslin’s animals, made from fish scales, bones, brass, and much else besides — also featured in Coilhouse.
