Is sci-fi out of ideas?
No, it’s not. You just gotta look below the popular surface. If you want something new, check out The Man from Earth. Yes, I know it’s based on a story published in 1983, but really, I can guarantee you, it’s a new idea. This is the first film version, and it brings something truly new to sci-fi. And it does it without CGI or even action (the movie is basically all dialog). Go watch it. The film-makers even praised those who spread the movie via torrents. (link via azspot.)
