Unconscious Research of Global Consciousness

The idea behind Global Orgasm Day is to “effect positive change in the energy field of the Earth”. It’s based on some pseudo-science by the Global Consciousness Project that claims to show that there exists a mystical energy field that can be affected by human emotions. Their evidence is a network of hardware random number generators (i.e., not pseudorandom generators) that supposedly display patterns highly unlikely to be random in connection with “significant events”, such as 9/11. Of course, it’s hogwash. This article does the idea justice by shooting it down.
