Best Blogs of 2007 That You (Maybe) Aren't Reading

I never read Fimoculous, except when links to this yearly list crop up. It’s one of those “Best of” lists that has interesting items, slightly more obscurity (thereby increasing the probability that you haven’t seen it all before) than the average and a good writeup.

My favorite new discoveries from this year’s list are Drawn!, Shorpy (“The 100-year-old photo blog”—it contains pictures from the entire history of photography, mostly 50+ years old stuff), Frolix-8: Philip K. Dick (which answers the question, “Which Philip K. Dick story are we in today?”), and The Snowclones Database (which documents snowclones, e.g., “X is the Y of Z”, “yes Virginia, there is an X”, “In X, no one can hear you Y” etc.).

Also notable that I already knew about are Strange Maps, A Brief Message, The “Blog” of “Unnecessary” Quotation Marks and even Jakob and Julia (notable in a “why the hell is that on the list?” way).

Oh, and Twitter and Tumblr share the number one spot. (And I think this post has a few too many parentheses.)
