A Long, Painful History of Time

Famous usenet troll and Lisp hacker Erik Naggum writes about the history of time management, and a solution to the problem in Common Lisp. Even if you have no interest in handling time in Lisp, there’s still some interesting history of time (hehe) in there.

This was written almost exactly eight years ago, so it’s littered with references to the Y2K problem. This is also fun in hindsight, when we know that 2000-01-01 was the day that not much happened.
