Wonderful color photos from Paris during the German occupation.

As far as I can tell, these were taken by Andre Zucca and caused a bit of an uproar when they were exhibited last year, because these are pictures Zucca took privately during his tenure at a Nazi magazine. But of course, while these images clearly leave out substantial parts of the reality of the situation, that doesn’t mean they aren’t valid historical documents. This was also Paris during the occupation — clearly people were going about their daily lives even if a lot of other, horrible stuff was also going on. (via)
